周秦故土九重天，

一路东南风雨偏。

关外牛羊胡语气， 

蜂腰不逊小南蛮。

Ode to Gansu

The wind and rain southeastward sigh 

Through Old Qin's Land under the sky

The Pass bars Huns, cattle and sheep;

A Wasp Waist outdoes a South Cheep.

荒原古月吊边关，

夜半驼铃伴影单。

佛叹一声沙有泪，

月牙轻咬印成泉。

Ode to Dunhuang Grotoes

O'er the Old Pass the moon sheds light;

The camel bell shakes the chill night.

Buddha sighs the sand into tears;

As Crescent bites, a spring appears.

丝路缤纷风景异，

雄关连锁天门闭。

八月胡天人罕迹。

鸣沙山上斜阳立，

半月泉边花影细。

夜半楼兰商女泣。

Yarn Washer-Ode to Hexi Corridor (1)

The Silk Road finds scenes abound,

The great Pass locked safe and sound.

August's wilds have few souls found;

The sun tilts o'er Sing Sand Mound.

Moon Pool sees bloom shades around;

Night hears Hun girls in tears drowned.

戈壁茫茫草似钩，

河西盛夏夜如秋。

玉门杨柳愁青色，

叠尽阳关泪满眸。

Ode to Hexi Corridor (2) 

The desert grass like hooks grows tall;

Corridor's summer feels like fall.

The willows at Jade Gate look blue;

Sun Pass brims with tears of rue.

奔波千里不为他，

消战促和万姓夸。

百塔无言功自在，

古来汉藏是一家。

Ode to Hundred Pagoda  Temple

For thousands of miles they have run

For peace and have praises won.

The pagodas have played their part, 

Binding Han and Zang with one heart.

天水无声麦自芽，

羲乡娲里祖宗家。

绝路相逢花也笑，

人生悲喜看佛崖。

Ode to Mt. Wheat Grotoes 

Heaven Water makes Wheat grow well

Where our roots Hsi and Wa did dwell.

As we bump to meet, the blooms smile.

Like Buddha let's laugh every while.
